Lethbridge: Experience Culinary Wonders

The city of Lethbridge is known for having more hours of sun each year than any other city in Canada (besides Medicine Hat), and for the wind sliding down off the nearby Rocky Mountains.

It’s also known as the home of two post-secondary institutions, Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge, which is one of Alberta’s three major research universities, along with the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary.

And it’s known for a lively and diverse dining scene. Dylan’s Piggyback Pountinerie offers western takes on poutine, the classic French Canadian dish that features french fries topped with gravy and cheese curds. At Dylan’s, add a heap of pulled pork, ground beef or duck confit to take the standard to the next level.

Vietnamese restaurant Mama La stands out as one of the coolest spots in the city. It has become a favourite of food bloggers and visitors.

Local pizzeria, Two Guys and a Pizza Place, has been serving up handtossed and hat cut pizzas since 2002. It was even featured on the national television show on CBC, You Gotta Eat Here!.

And the Original Shanghai Chop House is a Chinese restaurant that was established in 1942 and continues to serve the community today. The restaurant features a variety of dishes including egg foo yung, chow mein and many pork, seafood, chicken and beef dishes.
